As the he director of a regional job training and economic development program in Appalachia, Ric secured funding for the first supported employment and independent living program for persons with developmental disabilities in eastern Kentucky.  While working with the Christian Appalachian Project, he led rural organizations in the acquisition of resources for economic development and job creation.  He was selected to lead the Ford Foundation in a one week site visit of eastern Kentucky which resulted in a grant of over $1,000,000 to the Mountain Association for Community and Economic Development (MACED).

As Vice President of Fund Development and Marketing for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston he led the development program to the next level by  increasing annual revenues from $8.5 million to over $11 million and created their first annual budget surplus of over $250,000. During his time in Houston, Ric led the development department to raise over $2.4 million annually including three black tie fundraising events per year grossing over a million dollars per year. Ric and his staff implemented a grant writing program generating over 80 proposals a year with an 80% success rate.

Most recently Ric has worked with national and regional organizations serving the Native American community.  In this capacity, Ric has developed relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations and Tribal entities in support of scholarships, educational programs and social initiatives for Indian communities and organizations.

Throughout his career Ric has also provided development services such as organizational assessments, board training, strategic planning and fundraising strategies to help organizations build their capacity to develop key relationships and resources in support of their mission.  Ric also leads capital and major gift campaigns as well as grant writing.
